ATOL (Air Travel Operators Licence) This is a form of insurance to you the public in the event of an Airline failure or tour operator which ceases trading, you the client are financially covered against loses incurred.

ATOL played a major role in repatriating clients back to the UK when a major operator collapsed but unfortunately those who booked direct were either left stranded or they lost their holiday.
